The Shepherd Has Landed - Will the Archdpdx Hear and Heed His Voice

Dear Advocates of Life,

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has landed in the US. This is a timely visit in many ways

The readings for last Sunday spoke of THE Good Shepherd, Christ, and how His sheep need to hear his voice, lest they be lead astray by others who are merely trying to steal the sheep. The energetic, appreciative crowds that line the streets to see and hear Pope Benedict shows that the US is hungry and thirsty for the words of Christ through His Vicar.

The laity in Oregon is working hard focusing on the salvation of souls and having much success through the Life is Sacred Conference and Precious Children of Portland. The contractor in the project has pulled out...Thanks be to God and the sacrifice and financing by the laity.

However, we still experience concern with some of the choices made by the Archdiocese of Portland in the people they hire and the organizations they elevate and follow. These issues have been directed to the Archdiocese of Portland, directly to the Archbishop and Mary Jo Tully from me and others with no action taken to change them. These are very serious issues that need to be addressed.
The Catechism teaches, "Anyone who uses the power at his disposal in such a way that it leads others to do wrong becomes guilty of scandal and responsible for the evil that he has directly or indirectly encouraged."(#2287)

It seems that our new director of the Office of Justice and Peace hears the voice of our Shepherd in Rome like this from a blog......"so, it turns out our illustrious new pope spent the anniversary of vatican II taking our church back to the dark ages, with a special plenary indulgence for all those who worship the blessed virgin mary today. excellent!"

After the scandal of the homosexual workshop in May at St. Philip Neri Church, this youtube was aired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q_WKKqAbsU Our new director, Catherine Willett's sister Claire is the main focus of this, however, Catherine's (Cat's) lifestyle is mentioned in the first few sentences. And their world view of church teachings again seem to question how the voice of the Good Shepherd is heard.

Our Director of Justice and Peace is confusing us a third way is with questions of following Liberation Theology (condemned by Rome) and political socialist? lifestyle" From another blog ........... www.redandblackcafe.com (click on the FIST towards the bottom too see what this is connected to, liberation theology and socialism)

* aside from being an excellent place to
meet lovers and delicious baked goods,
the red and black is home to the kindest
of baristas and the purest of ideals.
also, the couches are deliciously squishy.

Our Justice and Peace director also makes public policy for us. With her purest of ideals resting with Church rejected liberation theology, we really need answers. She signed EMO's letter to Governor Kulongoski. Oregon Catholic Public Policy on 2007 Measure 50 that failed because of the flaws. www.myblurredvision.com/blurred_vision_god_music_/2007/09/index.html - 99k - she signed for us at the bottom.

This information taken originally from a blog by Chuck Currie a leader in Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon which is sympathetic to the active homosexual agenda and abortion rights which causes us further scandal. Our 2007 lobbyist, Roger Martin, as you remember voted to legalize abortion in 1969 when he was a legislator, so this shouldn't surprise us. This liberal religious push shows we need to have answers: More problems with not hearing the voice of the Good Shepherd.

Oregon Catholics are dealing with many external noises that do not echo the voice of the Good Shepherd. The biggest one is Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) an ally of the Archdiocese that I believe leads well meaning people away from the whole truth. There is no true Ecumenism here, but only Oregon Catholics are being used to give credibility to EMO and liberal causes furthering confusing the Legislator that still believe if Catholics are on board it must be okay.

In January I attended the Advocacy Days of EMO at the First Congregational Church in Salem. There were approximately fifteen people there including the ones giving reports. The short 2008 "emergency legislative session" had little happening, but there were requests from those gathered:

* Kevin Finney, executive public policy director, got an email from the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, a new "Faith In Public Life" group started by Alinskian guru, – Rev. Richard Killmer. There was NO emergency. This question was asked from a woman pastor. HOWEVER, Kevin Finney passed this info on to EMO churches with a letter to Sentor Gordon Smith and Archbishop Vlazny was on the top of the list of those pastors, etc, who signed the letter, (see attachment) This was embarrassing to me and shows how EMO makes us jump.
* Stories regarding a need for health care, they couldn't find anyone and need some. They were trying to resurrect
* Pastor Dan Bryant from Eugene who made available his church for the profane "mass" of profane "woman priest" Toni Tortorilla and I had a long conversation regarding his letting this happen. He said that there were so many Catholics that "cried with joy" when this took place, that he couldn't disappoint them. His excuse was that he was like a safe house for a teenager who was working things out. I responded, that it was more like child on crack cocaine and having someone take them in and not truly care about their soul. He saw my point but didn't change his mind.

********************************************************************************************************

As the Holy Father's words saturate us, we pray that there will be continued conversion of our hearts as we hear the words of our Holy Father/Shepherd. May the people who get paid by Catholic Collection Plate money heed and hear and act on these words so that all of Oregon may not cause scandal or lose souls for Christ, but be a place of true Divine Peace and Justice.
