Our Convert Family's Journey Home

This is a page out of the Archdiocesan Catholic Women's Conference Book for 2004.  I was the Church Commission Chair for five years until the Archbishop had me removed. Click

This post is to thank God for his mercy and guidance through many experiences.  On the  anniversary of my family's entrance into the Church, this is the condensed version of our experience on Our Journey.

The Convert

After one moment when I bowed my head
And the whole world turned over and came upright,
And I came out where the old road shone white,
I walked the ways and heard what all men said,
Forests of tongues, like autumn leaves unshed,
Being not unlovable but strange and light;
Old riddles and new creeds, not in despite
But softly, as men smile about the dead.

The sages have a hundred maps to give
That trace their crawling cosmos like a tree,
They rattle reason out through many a sieve
That stores the sand and lets the gold go free:
And all these things are less than dust to me
Because my name is Lazarus and I live.

  1. Carolyn, We must all keep praying that the Holy Father will bring the abuse to and end soon.

  7. Congratulations to you and your family for recognizing the One, Holy and Apostolic Church established by Christ as the means for our salvation. (And for adhering to your Faith throughout the many crises in the Church.)

  9. Congratulations!
Speaking of Converts and coming back to the Faith
I see and hear to pray for Obama-- Not Pres in my book
However, I never hear much about the VP
Since he was Baptized Catholic maybe we should get all the Catholics to pray for the
return of his soul. It couldnt hurt. what do u think?

    Again Congrats !
