Sister Kathleen, by her actions, has besmirched the reputation of The Sisters of the Holy Names. She must feel comfortable that heresy is okay in this Archdiocese.

Subject: Saturday Liturgy
Greetings to all of you,
I'm sending a little reminder about our Mass this coming Saturday. For our lectors (Bob Larroque, first reading; Sandi DeMaster, second reading) we will be using the Lectionary created by Priests for Equality. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Janet Stevens for providing us with this copy! The Larroques will also be providing us with refreshments after our liturgy and Kathleen Greene will make sure we have coffee and tea, so I hope you can stay a bit afterwards and visit with everyone.
It would be helpful if someone would like to volunteer to bring forward the gifts before communion. And we will also need someone to carry the processional cross during our entrance rite and during the recessional. The cross is a gift to us from Sr. Kathleen and the Sisters of the Holy Names, and we are honored to have it available for our Masses.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
Christ's peace be with you,
Toni

Sophia Christi Community officiated by Toni Tortorilla, and new "catholic community" Lumen Christi officiated by Sandra DeMaster are names of the Women Priests organizations in Oregon.
Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon churches are used for their "mass"/meetings.
Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon churches are used for their "mass"/meetings.
They are supported by the dissident groups Call to Action NW and One Spirit One Call that meet in Catholic Churches.
One Spirit, One Call is endorsed by some priests and allowed to have life in Oregon by Archbishop Vlazny who states in this article, ( AB Vlazny Active Avenue for Dissidents)
"Organizers wrote to the archbishop of Portland, the Most Rev. John G. Vlazny, and told him of their plans. He says he is resigned that "One Spirit -- One Call" would go on.
"I'm not happy about it," he says. "Whenever people are disturbed, it's a good idea to get together and pray. But my job is one that tries to promote the unity of the church, to encourage the church in our evangelization."
He says he has good relationships with women in the church. "I've tried my best to treat people with fairness." He understands that the women behind the Portland event have a list of grievances, but he thinks "ordination is at the bottom of it all."
"I have no authority to change that." The Catholic Church does not ordain women to the priesthood. "No other bishop, not even the pope can change that," Vlazny says." (VOCAL wonders, would he change it, if he could?)

This mentality in the Archdpdx hierarchy has bankrupted us monetarily and threatens Oregon Catholics spiritually. There is not a feeling of protection for our souls or our funds.
"Roman Catholic Womenpriests reject the penalty of excommunication issued by the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith on May 29, 2008 stating that the women priests and the bishops who ordain them would be excommunicated latae sententiae.”
Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. Romans 32

INCREDIBLE BUT NOT SURPRISING!
THANKS, CAROLYN
so sad...but it is humorous that they, while rejecting 2000 years of Church Tradition, they use Latin to identify themselves.
Thanks for the update, Carolyn. We will pray again for our Archdiocese for protection and
a new archbishop and chancellor soon who follows the magesterium of the Church.
Thanks Carolyn for the recent enlightenments! The archbishop does NOT have to fund them or provide buildings for them. He can definately do more by speaking up often against this! I will continue praying for the church and more now for this problem.
Thanks for sharing!!
God Have Mercy! How depressing!
It seems like the twilight zone and we're lead by aliens.
Kris,
The Archbishop was called by one of him colleagues that he's like "velvet wrapped in steel", quite a statement. But easy to see according to his actions.
Priests Wife, the "mass" at these groups looks like children trying to play church. It's very embarrassing to see the men (some priests)lower themselves and Our Lord when they participate. There is a great need for catechism, true catechism, and the Archdpdx doesn't have a great track record for his.
Carolyn, I don 't know if she did a disservice to the Holy Name/Marylhurst nuns. I have a grade school thru high school friend who is a Holy Name (was Sister Mary Damian now Barbara Raymond) and she isn't any nun you wouldn't want teaching your grandchildren. She probably belongs to that group. I see her 2,3 times/year and I can't believe what she believes, and the fact that several "catholic" churches let her give the homily. I think the Holy Name Sisters went 'gunny bag' many years ago. (all my grade school teachers were Holy Name Nuns.)
I know that Marylhurst is the bastion of liberalism, labyrinth and bad vibes. I feel sorry for the sisters that want to live the truth.
I found this article in the UP newspaper. Pretty interesting that a
Catholic University has a nun providing guidance to a student making such a
case for Women's Ordination. The nun, Sister Kathleen Mcmanus, is involved
with the One Spirit, One Call movement.

Just more names to watch out for, I guess.
I am glad I am not sending any of my children to the University of Portland.
Hope all is well with you and yours!
These women "religious" have a very cushy life. They have lost their way because of this. My thought is that they have lost their faith because they know what happens by some priests that helped them lose their way. Sad.
I felt I must send this along because I was poking around on the internet
after having read your blog, so in a way, it was you that led me to it.
Anyway, this Sr Kathleen Mcmanus us speaking at some point at a One Spirit,
One Call event.
But, on the other hand, there are many young people being called to serve
the church in a faithful way, we should be joyful and hopeful.
I am visiting family in Portland. Wanting to go to a weekday Mass, I googled the Mass times of churches in the Lloyd Center area. I was shocked to see St. Andrew's website. It invites folks of all " sexual orientation and gender expression" sans disclaimer of any sort. On its list of ministries it has One Spirit One Call, a feminist group. I doesn't show any pro-life ministries. Where is the Bishop of this diocese?
